Frederick J. Magovern gave a presentation to the Judicial Institute on adoption law with fellow Fordham Law alumni Gregory A. Franklin ’84 and Kerry B. Mulvihill ’03.

Peter Curry was selected to the list of Super Lawyers’ New York Metro Super Lawyers for 2022. He has been selected to this list every year since 2011.

Peter Sachs was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by South Florida Business & Wealth (SFBW).

Beverly Lakes Wilkes was named arbitrator for National Securities Derivative Regulators.

Judge Nicholas C. DiPiazza, presiding judge of the Glendale City Court, Maricopa County, Arizona, was appointed to a second term on the bench. Judge DiPiazza, a retired U.S. Navy Captain, launched a Veterans Treatment Court in the Glendale City Court in 2020. In January 2022, he expanded that treatment court into the West Valley Regional Veterans Court, offering services to veterans who come into contact with the criminal justice system in 10 cities and towns located in the region west of Phoenix.

Peter B. Skelos was listed in Super Lawyers’ New York Metro Super Lawyers for 2022. He has been selected to this list every year since 2017.

Margaret Groban was interviewed for an article about gun regulation in Maine for Maine Public.

Floyd G. Cottrell joined the partnership of Rawle & Henderson at their Hackensack, New Jersey, office.

Michael Lane joined the partnership of Barclay Damon in their New York office.

Stephen Fogerty was named to Best Lawyers’ 2023 Best Lawyers in America list in the New York Area for Commercial Litigation, Banking and Finance Litigation, Insurance Litigation, and Labor and Employment Litigation. He was selected to Super Lawyers’ Connecticut Super Lawyers list for 2022 and listed in their Top 50 Connecticut Lawyers. Fogerty was also included in Irish Voice’s Irish Legal 100 for 2022 list.

John P. Corrigan was elevated to the partnership of Davidoff Hutcher & Citron.

Justice Maria Araújo Kahn was nominated to be a circuit judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit by President Joe Biden. She currently serves on the Connecticut Supreme Court.

Carol Goodman was elected to the executive committee of Herrick Feinstein. She has worked at the firm for over 25 years.

Maria Hermida was appointed general counsel at Accion.

Ken Sonnenfeld was named a Patent Star by Managing IP.

William F. Dahill co-founded the partnership of Coviello Weber & Dahill, based in White Plains, New York.

Judge Robert Kirsch was nominated to the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey by President Joe Biden. He currently serves as a trial court judge in the Criminal Division of the New Jersey Superior Court for Union County.

Deneen Donnley spoke at “Enhancing Your Emotional Intelligence and Communication Skills in the ‘New Normal’ Work Environment,” hosted by Barker Gilmore.

Michele Floyd joined the partnership of Kilpatrick Townsend in the Complex Commercial Litigation team at their San Francisco Office.

Nicole Macarchuk joined Derchert’s corporate and securities group in San Fransisco.

John R. Ciulla was appointed chair of the American Bankers Association’s American Bankers Council for 2022–2023.

Irene Eddy was elevated to chief financial officer at Accord Financial.

John Doyle Jr. was elevated to regional director for Region 2 of the National Labor Relations Board at their offices in New York.

William Jannace was appointed to the Panel of Recognized International Market Experts in Finance. He is an assistant professor at the Eisenhower School for National Defense and Resource Strategy and an adjunct professor/lecturer at Fordham Law, Global Financial Markets Institute, and Metropolitan College.

Deirdre M. Mitacek was elevated to the partnership of Cullen and Dykman at their Albany office.

Valerie White was honored at the Habitat for Humanity NYC and Westchester County House Party on October 25.

Palmina Fava was named to the 2023 Best Lawyers in America list for White-Collar Criminal Defense.

Anna Newsom joined Providence Health & Services as executive vice president and chief legal officer.

Drew Chapman launched a Shareholder Activism practice at Cole Schotz.

Paola Bettelli co-authored a policy guide, “Operationalizing the Environment-Health Nexus in Asia and the Pacific,” that aims to support policymakers and stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region in addressing environmental health risks while also protecting ecosystems.

Daniel Messeloff was selected by his peers for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America for 2023 in the areas of Employment Law, Management and Litigation, and Labor and Employment.

Benjamin Allee was named to the 2023 Best Lawyers in America list for Commercial Litigation.

Lauren Sobel a host of The Hearing podcast, which focuses on all kinds of legal issues, recently had John Koufos ’03 on as a guest.

Azeema Batchelor was featured in the New York Times in a September 2023 article on productivity in a post-COVID-19 working environment.

Emily Nash was promoted to the position of counsel at Mayer Brown.

Vanessa Nadal ’10 contributed a chapter to the upcoming book How FDA Really Works: Insights from the Experts. She and her co-author, Claire Bing, are members of the adjunct faculty at Fordham Law, where they co-teach U.S. Cosmetics Regulation, the first course of its kind at any law school. Nadal is currently global marketing counsel at Estée Lauder.
